The Lydia Project originated as a natural outgrowth of A Rood Awakening! International, which aims to restore the Hebrew roots of the Christian faith. As people began exploring the ancient paths that the prophets declared would be restored in the last days, they inevitably discovered the mandate that echoes throughout the Scriptures: provide for the widows, the orphans, and the poor in the Land of Israel.

Convicted about fulfilling this mandate, they contacted Michael Rood, asking if they could entrust their tithes to him. Michael regarded these requests as a sacred trust, and began praying and seeking areas in Israel that would accept these offerings.

If there be among you a poor man of one of thy brethren within any of thy gates in thy land which YHVH thy Elohim giveth thee, thou shalt not harden thine heart, nor shut thine hand from thy poor brother: But thou shalt open thine hand wide unto him, and shalt surely lend him sufficient for his need, in that which he wanteth.” – Deuteronomy 15:7-8

The heart of The Lydia Project is to fulfill the mandate of the Torah and the clear word given to the Believer in the Brit Chadasha (New Testament), which is to help the widows, orphans, and poor in the Land of Israel. We have also discovered a great need among those who have returned to Israel and are believers in Messiah Yeshua (Jesus) or have become Believers since returning to the Land.

The Lydia Project has been set up by A Rood Awakening! International.  All funds raised are earmarked for the widows,  orphans, and poor in the Land of Israel.  We also serve the persecuted and forgotten Messianic Believers who are in danger of being driven out of the land they love.  Over the years, The Lydia Project has distributed over $300,000 of your tithes and offerings.

We are asking you for two things:

  • Pray about your part in The Lydia Project
  • Pray about what you can pledge to help us, either as a one time gift or better yet, on a monthly basis.

Thank you for joining your tithes and offerings with ours as we work to fulfill this sacred mandate.  This instruction remains close to the heart of our Creator;  He who promises to bless those who bless Israel.

“Blessed is he that considereth the poor; THE ALMIGHTY will deliver him in time of trouble. ELOHIM will preserve him and keep him alive, and he shall be blessed upon the earth, and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies.” – Psalm 41:12
